Welcome to my voyage.
I’m Monika, a 28 year old female ‘traveller’. I currently live in London as an expat, and love exploring the world. Being half Indonesian and half Austrian, I’ve always struggled to find where I belong. Travel has always brought me closer to that sense of belonging and opened by mind up to new experiences, encounters with amazing people, diverse landscapes, new cuisines and interesting challenges.
Travel can bring us closer to understanding and accepting each other as we are, and realising we’re all humans living on this small planet Earth. Time and time again, I read and hear some crazy myths and misconceptions about travel, like “travelling as a woman is too dangerous” or “travelling is too expensive”, so I decided to create this blog to simplify travelling.
I’ve travelled to 55 countries, lived in 15 different cities and towns around the world, and I’m still learning and taking in things as I go. I’ve done a range of travelling from solo backpacking on a shoestring budget to travelling with friends on cute vacations to romantic getaways with my partner. The map below is a cute version of a scratch-it of the countries I’ve travelled to.

The intention of this blog is to keep things real, raw, and humanise travel. Enjoy the read, and stay safe out there. Peace.
